Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was boycotted in Russia

If Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 isn’t amended, its Xbox and PS3 versions won’t be allowed to launch in the Russian market. What’s more, it might be taken off the shelf.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 got good sale achievement after its launch. But it has not been launched in Russian market yet. In the game, there is a level that players can skip. It is just this level which drew the attention of the relevant authorities in Russia. In the level, players acts as a spy who works for the CIA. And this spy will attack an airport together with four terrorists and slaughter numerous ordinary citizens without resistance.

The relevant Russian authorities indicated that if the producer Activision is desirous to launch Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 in Russia, it is necessary to make some amendments in its Xbox and PS3 versions. Furthermore, they are also required to make the patch of its PC version to delete or revise this level.
